Cedar Stone Stage 7

These cabin pictures were taken in the winter of 2008.
The rocks were collected on our land as well as the cedar trees.
We had a good system going, Kim mixed cement, I debarked the cordwood and we both helped line up rocks to fit. Roy and Mike built the stone base.
You have to like hard work to do this....not the kind of project with a huge crew...we were it, two men, two women. I loved it!

Cedar Stone Cabin Stage 2

We built our Cedar Stone Cabin on a natural stone foundation, cut the trees a year ahead to allow them to dry. Cut the logs into 16" long cordwood logs and debarked them. The four of us worked hard, my sister, Kim mixed cement non stop. My husband Mike about lost his thumb in the process....so a trip to the emergency room had to fit into the plans...ouch!
